Planned protest by Nigerian Bar Association is most inappropriate at this time - Lagos Police Command warns!

The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, has reacted to the news of a planned protest by the Nigerian Bar Association Chairman, Ikeja branch, Mr. Adesina Ogunlana who plans to use the occasion of the visit of the President Buhari to protest the Land Use Charge policy of the Lagos State Government. 

The CP in a statement signed by the State PRO. Chike Oti believes strongly that the planned protest by the NBA is the handiwork of mischief makers who are using the NBA as a launching pad to possibly compromise the security emplaced for the presidential visit. 

"It must be recalled that on the 12th of March 2018, the Lagos State Police Command availed the NBA Ikeja branch its security assets and escorted them to the Government House Alausa to protest the increase in the Land Use Charge. At Alausa they were addressed and afterwards escorted back to their base. It is baffling that the same NBA whose right to protest has never been denied to use the auspicious occasion of the President's visit to protest and disrupt the occasion and by extension compromise the security of the President is to say the least most incomprehensible" the statement read.

 
"For the avoidance of doubt, the Lagos State Police Command will not tolerate any protest from the NBA or from any group or individual for that matter during the visit of Mr President whom Lagosians are ready to receive warmly. The NBA and any group wanting to protest at this time are warned to jettison the idea or face dire consequences which may include arrest and prosecution of participants. It is curious that of all the NBA branches in Lagos, it is only the Ikeja branch that has been using the option of protest and civil disobedience despite several options available to it thus lending credence to the intelligence report that the Chairman of the NBA is a pawn in the hands of some disgruntled politicians".

R Kelly has been accused of grooming an underage girl as his 'sex pet'

American R&B singer, R-Kelly has been accused of grooming an underage girl and sexually abusing her since she was 14-years-old.  

A BBC Three documentary, reveals the latest in a string of allegations against the singer.   The accusation was made by Kelly's former girlfriend Kitti Jones, who was referring to another woman as a victim of abuse.  

34-year old Jones claims that at some point during her two years of dating Kelly, which started in 2011, he introduced her to a girl "that he told me he 'trained' since she was 14, those were his words".  

She continued: "I saw that she was dressed like me, that she was saying the things I'd say and her mannerisms were like mine. That's when it clicked in my head that he had been grooming me to become one of his pets. He calls them his pets."

Jones, who claims she was groomed by Kelly herself and forced into sex with him and at least 10 others in his "sex dungeon", alleges that Kelly made the unnamed woman "crawl on the floor towards me and perform oral sex on me, and he said 'This is my f**king pet, I trained her. She's going to teach you how to be with me".  

The woman's name at the time of the alleged incident is unknown. Kelly and his representatives made no comment to the BBC, the Guardian or Pitchfork, but he has previously denied accusations that he physically, sexually and mentally abuses women. Last year, Jim DeRogatis reported accusations against Kelly that he held young women against their will in an abusive "cult", with several sets of parents coming forward with allegations about their children.

They accused him of "brainwashing' women in a set-up where he controlled what they wore, who they could speak to, and when they could use the bathroom or their phones.

23 Ugandan radio stations shut down for ‘promoting witchcraft’

No fewer than  23 radio stations have been sut down by Ugandan authorities for “promoting witchcraft’’ and trying to con people out of money.

The stations’ licencses were suspended after they had guests on air who claimed they could heal diseases like HIV, Pamela Ankunda, the Uganda Communications Commission spokesperson revealed.

“The radios have been promoting witchcraft. People claimed on these radios to cure diseases like AIDS and cancer . These people have been fraudulently getting money from the public. Their operations and licences have been suspended until they are able to assure the commission through writing that they will abide by the minimum broadcasting standards,’’ Ankunda said.

She said that Uganda has 292 radio stations, mostly privately-owned and its common for various religious leaders, self-proclaimed prophets and traditional healers in Africa to claim being able to cure HIV and other incurable diseases through their platforms. 

Women are more likely to orgasm when they have sex with other women, new study reveals

According to a new report, women are more likely to orgasm when they have sex with other women than when they have sex with men.

This revelation comes from an exclusive report from The Sun, which takes note from a survey of 2,300 people around the world. Researchers found that women are more likely to orgasm during same-sex encounters, with some women who have sex with women reporting having orgasms as many as 55 times a month. Straight women, on the other hand, said they experience around 7 orgasms a month.

Dr Kristen Jozkowski, from the University of Arkansas, explains that this is likely because women having sex with other women tend to do more things than just penetrative sex – their sex is "excitingly diversified".

Basically, this means that when women have sex with other women, the focus isn’t on rushing into penetration; it’s about exploring pleasure through oral, fingering, sex toys, and other stuff that many straight couples dismiss as optional foreplay.

The stats on orgasm gaps have been around for quite some time. A study from Chapman University, Indiana University, and the Kinsey Institute found that straight women are less likely than any other demographic to have an orgasm during sex.

A study of more than 52,000 adults found that while heterosexual men reported that they orgasm 95% of the time they have sex, heterosexual women orgasm just 65% of the time – and only 33% of heterosexual women said they have an orgasm every time they have sex, versus 75% of men who could say the same. That’s not because the female orgasm is much harder to achieve, to be clear.

Lesbian women reported that they orgasm 86% of the time, while bisexual women orgasm 66% of the time. So again, a woman’s likelihood to orgasm drops pretty significantly if she’s having sex with a man rather than a woman.

This study found that the reasons for this are pretty simple: when a woman has sex with another woman, she’s more likely to have oral sex, she’s more likely to have sex for a longer period of time, and she’s more likely to try different sex positions – all of which are factors associated with increased orgasms.

Rapper DMX sentenced to one-year in prison

New York rapper, DMX has been sentenced to one year in prison for tax evasion.

The 47-year-old rapper was handed the sentence during a hearing in Manhattan on Wednesday, after having pleaded guilty to the charges last year November.

The rapper who was first arrested in July 2017,  was facing 14 charges of tax fraud. He initially pled not guilty and paid $500,000 to be released on bail, but later pled guilty to one count in November as part of a deal with authorities. 

According to TMZ, the New York rapper would have faced up to 4 years in prison if the deal hadn't been struck. But following the12 months jail term, DMX whose real name is Earl Simmons will have three years of supervised release when he's out of prison.

Court asks Senator Abaribe to produce Nnamdi Kanu or risk jail sentence

The Federal high court, Abuja, has asked Senator Enyinaya Abaribe and two others to produce leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu in court for the next hearing of his treason case on June 26th 2018 or face jail term.

Recall that Abaribe, Immanuel El-Shalom, a Jewish high priest, and Tochukwu Uchendu, a chartered accountant, stood surety for Kanu when he was granted bail on April 27th last year after spending over a year in detention.

Kanu has however gone underground after the military invasion of his home in Abia state in September last year.

At the resumed hearing of Kanu's treason case yesterday March 28th, Justice Binta Nyako told counsel to the senator and the two others to either produce Kanu in court during the next hearing or forfeit their N100 million bail bond issued when he was grnted bail or go to jail. 

Kanu is facing a four-count amended charge preferred against him and four others, whose trial had since been separated from his. Abaribe and the two others entered an undertaken to produce Kanu before the court to face his trial by standing as sureties for him.

Katsina State Police recover 198 Illegal firearms from herdsmen and cattle rustlers

The Katsina Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Wakili confirms that not less than 198 different types of illegal firearms have been recovered from herdsmen and cattle rustlers across the state.  

Giving a breakdown of the seizures at a news conference in Katsina on Wednesday, the Commissioner listed the recovered arms to include 20 AK47 rifles, 10  G3 rifles, 70 locally made pistols, one locally made rifle, 80 locally made Dane guns, five double barrelled guns, 840 ammunition, 50 magazines, eight pump action rifles and two SMG.

Ireland announces plan to hold a referendum on May 25 to decide if abortion should be legalized

Irish Housing Minister, Eoghan Murphy has announced that Ireland will hold a referendum on whether abortion should be legalized on May 25.

Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar had earlier pledged to hold a vote to change the constitution, which guides the Catholic-majority country's abortion laws, some of the strictest in the developed world.

Murphy tweeted: "I've just signed the order for polling day on the referendum on repealing the 8th amendment to the constitution." The amendment places the right to life of an unborn child on equal footing with the mother's right to life.

Ireland is among just 50 countries that allow terminations only when a woman's life is at risk, according to the Pew Research Center. Incest or rape do not provide legal grounds for abortion in Ireland. Six other countries ban abortion under all circumstances.

President Trump's personal doctor to replace Veteran Affairs secretary, David Shulkin who is being forced to resign

Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin will resign soon and President Donald Trump has said that he will nominate his personal doctor, Ronny Jackson, to succeed him.  

White House officials also hint that Shulkin had become a distraction due to a constant wave of speculation about his future. They said an undersecretary at the Department of Defense, Robert Wilkie, will be the acting secretary.  

Jackson, a rear admiral of the U.S. Navy, has been working as a presidential physician since the George W. Bush administration, and has monitored Trump’s health since Trump became president.  “Admiral Jackson is highly trained and qualified and as a service member himself, he has seen firsthand the tremendous sacrifice our veterans make and has a deep appreciation for the debt our great country owes them,” Trump said.  

Trump said he appreciated Shulkin’s work, including passage of the VA Accountability Act.”He has been a great supporter of veterans across the country and I am grateful for his service,” Trump said in a statement.  

Shulkin had been drawing criticism for a damning report from the inspector general of the Department of Veterans Affairs. It found that during a trip to London and Denmark he improperly accepted tickets to the Wimbledon tennis tournament and his chief of staff made false statements so Shulkin’s wife could travel at government expense.

Police arrest ritualist with 3 human heads in Ilorin

Yesterday, the Police Command in Kwara State paraded a suspected ritualist it arrested with three human skulls. The Commissioner of Police in the state, Lawan Ado, said that one Suleiman Adenifuja was caught with three human skulls along Ogbomosho-Eiyekorin Area, Ilorin, on March 26.  

Ado said that when the suspect was interrogated he claimed that he brought the skulls from Lagos to Ilorin for ritual purpose. He said that one Wahab Ramoni was also arrested with a stolen Toyota Camry Car, AKD 287 EE.  “The vehicle will be released to the owner after investigation, while the suspects will be charge to court.  

He warned residents against illegal use of siren, covering of number plates and use of spy numbers by banks and other organisation. Ado advised those using such to apply and get approval of Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.  He said that the application should be routed through the Force Transport Officer, Abuja, adding that the command was set to arrest and prosecute offenders.  “We also wish to inform members of the public of the extension of the date of withdrawal of all police personnel attached to VIPs, government officials, political office holder, to April 20  “This is to enable the affected officials to re-apply for revalidation of the authority for IGP’s approval,” the CP said.  

He called on people who had not surrender the illegal and prohibited firearms to do so, saying that anybody arrested would be prosecuted.

Nigerian lady alleges that married comedian, Klint Da Drunk is the father of her child (photos)

A Nigerian lady identified as Sandra Novo Jacob took to her Facebook page alleging that Klint Da Drunk who is married with two children, is the father of her daughter. 

She shared her child's birth certificate with Klint Da Drunk's name registered as the father. She also shared a screenshot of her chats with him and screenshot of bank statements.

She alleged that Mr Klint does not call or take care of the little girl's upkeep which prompted her to call him out. She welcomed the child in July 2017 See more photos below ...

Scientists have found a new organ in the body that no one knew about before

Scientists believe they have just discovered a new organ in the body which no one knew about before now.

A new study published On Monday, March 27 says the new organ discovered is called the interstitium. The interstitium is a network of fluid-filled tubes all around the body which could act as a shock absorber. Sadly, this organ could also act as a conduit for cancerous cells to move to different parts of the body. However, knowing about it could lead to new treatments and better understanding.

If it is indeed an organ, it could be the biggest of 80 in the human body, found under the skin and also lining veins and arteries, muscles, the gut and every visceral organ. Previously, scientists had seen it but believed it was made up of dense connective tissue. When slides were examined that’s what it looked like, because to make a slide the fluid is drained away as part of the process.

Its true nature was realised during a routine endoscopy looking at a patient’s bile duct. Doctors noticed what looked like a network of capillaries, but clearly couldn’t be that because it would have picked up the fluorescent dye they were using. Previously, we knew that there was fluid between cells (known as interstitial fluid) but it wasn’t thought to be contained in a network like this.

New York University pathologist Dr Neil Theise said: "This finding has potential to drive dramatic advances in medicine. This includes the possibility that the direct sampling of interstitial fluid may become a powerful diagnostic tool. Once tumours get in, they’re like a water slide. We have a new window on the mechanism of tumours spreading."
