North Korea to invite journalists from South Korea, China, Russia, UK and US to witness nuclear test site closure

North Korea will make a public show of its promise to close its nuclear testing site, north of the country. According to South Korean news agency, Yonhap, North Korea  said it is taking “technical measures” to dismantle its nuclear test site, moving closer to honouring an offer made by its leader Kim Jong-un during the inter-Korean summit last month.

Minister of Mines and Steel Development , Dr Kayode Fayemi, today emerged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State and will be the party’s flag bearer in the July 14th governorship election in the state.

Fayemi who has served as governor of the state, won the keenly contested governorship primary of the party held  in Ado Ekiti with 941 votes counted against 31 other candidates.

He was taken to an Abuja based hospital where a surgery was conducted on him and afterwards he was flown abroad. Many Nigerians believed his trip to Germany was to undergo a brain surgery. The minister of health however says that is not true.

Lagos police arrest three people for killing a man at APC Agege congress

The Lagos State Police command on Saturday, said three persons were arrested over their alleged involvement in the killing of one man during the APC LG congress in Agege.  

Spokesman of the command, SP Chike Oti, confirmed the arrest but did not mention the names of the victim and suspects. Oti said that the suspects had been taken to the State CID, Panti for interrogation.

One dead, four wounded in Paris stabbing attack as police 'neutralize' assailant

One person was killed and four others were wounded during a Saturday night knife attack in Paris.

Two of the victims were seriously injured and two others were lightly injured and police officials confirm that the attacker is also dead. There is no known motive for the attack at this time.

French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb praised the cool and quick response by French police who "neutralized" the assailant. "My first thoughts are for the victims in this odious attack," added Collomb, who made the comments via Twitter.

Racer breaks down in police car when he realises he's mowed down and killed jogger, 18... victim's father says: " Our lives have been shattered for a few minutes of reckless fun

William Dorey, an 18-year-old A-level student, went for a run but never made it home. He was mowed down by two joyriders; Joshua Cherukara, 20, and Harry Cable, 18.

Joshua and Harry were racing each other in Whitley Bay, Tyneside, at the same time William was out jogging. Unfortunately, William was struck by a Renault Megane driven by Joshua, who had been racing Harry's Vauxhall Corsa along the coast.

Police arrived the scene and arrested the young men responsible for the accident that killed William. Video footage shows the moment Joshua breaks down in tears in the back of a police car moments after the car crash. He is handcuffed and can be seen mouthing "Oh my God".

Both racers admitted to causing death by dangerous driving and were sent to a young offenders' institution. Joshua was sent for six years and nine months, while Harry got four-and-a-half years. Both will be banned from driving for four years after their release.

William's father, Hugh Dorey, 57, described the moment he came across the aftermath of a car crash, not realising his teenage son's was involved.

He explained that their son had been preparing for his A-Level exams when he decided to go for a run. His parents began to worry when he didn't return and their worry increased when they saw two police cars flashed past their house.

Mrs Gill Dorey asked her husband to go and check on their son and he drove just a few hundred yards from their home when he came upon the scene of the crash. He said he saw a number of police cars but still "half-expected" his son to appear.

Mr Dorey told the Chronicle Live: "At this point I didn't know that in front of me was the scene of my son's fatal accident."

When he told his wife there had been an accident close to their home in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, she joined him at the scene. At the site, police asked them if their son wore glasses and when they said yes, they were put in the back of a police car and the police showed them a pair of glasses and smashed mobile phone that belonged to their son and asked if they recognised them.

Mr Dorey revealed that he said something like "oh Jesus Christ" and his wife recognised the phone as belonging to their son.

He said: "She knew that was the end of her life as she knew it."

They were then taken to identify their son's body at the same hospital he was born in. They immediately realised it was their son and described the 'awful' injuries to his head and face.

Mr Dorey described how his wife threw herself at the door as they left and said that her "baby was dead".

The grieving father asked the killer drivers how they would feel if they were told by police that their child was killed by internal decapitation.

Nigerian teenager stabbed 15-year-old to death after row that started in comments on social media

A teenager has been jailed on his 18th birthday for killing a 15-year-old boy in an alleged row over comments left on social media.

Michael Idehen, 18, who rapped about stabbing people on YouTube, was captured on CCTV plunging a knife into Kyron Webb's chest in Moston, Manchester on October 17 last year.

During his trial he claimed Kyron had left derogatory comments on a video he posted on Snapchat and even threatened to stab him.

Michael, who turned 18 on Friday, May 11, 2018, was jailed on that same day. He was sentenced to a minimum of 15 years behind bars for the younger boy's murder.

Michael had previously uploaded a video to YouTube that talked about "cheffing" a slang term for stabbing. The YouTube video called "No Gas" and posted by a group named "MB26" shows Micheal rapping about "trying to chef your friend". The clip, which appeared online in August 2017, features a number of masked youths.

"He backed his shank [knife], he waived it around, but he didn't do no cheffing," the teenager raps.

Manchester Crown Court heard that Michael, who was 17 at the time of the attack and had previous convictions for knife possession and robbery, knew Kyron before it happened. Phone evidence suggested they had been in contact before.

A 17-year-old boy, who was 16 at the time of Kyron's murder and who cannot be named for legal reasons, was also jailed for five years after pleading guilty to manslaughter.

The attack on Kyron was captured on CCTV. Prior to the fatal attack on October 17, Michael and his co-defendant who was sentenced to five years had taken a bus to Moston to meet up with another group for a "pre-arranged" meeting, prosecutor Nicholas Johnson QC said.

At around 6.45pm, student Kyron arrived in Moston Lane. Micheal walked over to speak to Kyron, who moved to Manchester from south London with his mother. The court heard Idehen's co-defendant then arrived and moved towards Kyron in an "intimidating manner".

Mercy Johnson finally addresses rumours of trouble in her marriage

Earlier in the year, actress Mercy Johnson deleted every photo of her husband from her Instagram page and this led to speculations that there was trouble in her seemingly happy marriage.

The actress quelled the rumor days later with a cosy photo of her and her husband curled up in bed in matching pyjamas.

The actress has now addressed the rumours in an Interview with Punch. The mother-of-three explained why she removed her husband's photos from her page and revealed that there's no problem in her marriage.

'Stop bringing 'dirty money' to church' - Prophet TB Joshua

Prophet T.B. Joshua has rebuked churchgoers who rely on their “dirty money” to pave way for them to receive God’s blessings.

The cleric, in a sermon, decried the level of ‘pride’ shown by church members nowadays. “We are too proud – that is why we believe so much in money,” he told congregants at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN).

“‘Money answereth everything that is the voice of pride”, he continued in the sermon titled ‘Read The Bible With Forgiveness. When you speak, one can hear the voice of money. When you walk, one can see the traces of money… But money is dirty; the journey of money is too far”.

He advised that all genuine Christians should rather engage in an assignment in their various churches, stressing the need to set a day aside in the week for such purpose. “Get interested in His plans and work with His projects. Go and work in the church where humility can come,” he counselled, explaining this would afford the opportunity to work freely with people irrespective of their social class.


Joshua recounted how his own mother would regularly bring him to church at the weekends and he watched intently as she diligently cleaned the church premises and simultaneously prayed. “When I asked her what she was saying in her prayers, she told me, ‘Lord, as I clean Your house, clean my life, future, family and children’. Here I am today.”

Cardi B deletes her Instagram account as her feud with Azealia Banks gets messier (Screenshots)

The feud between Cardi B and Azealia Bank has left the rap sensation with no other option than to delete her Instagram account after things got messier yesterday.

As earlier reported, It all started after Azealia appeared on The Breakfast Club on Friday, where she discussed some topics like Donald Trump, Kanye West, her upcoming music, as well as her previous criticism of Cardi B.

When confronted about calling the Cardi B “an illiterate rat” back in February, she described Cardi as a “caricature of a black woman that black women themselves would never be able to get away from.”

Toolz opens up about her miscarriage, says going through labour knowing the unborn baby was gone broke her
