The Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa this morning lost his Special Assistants on Women Mobilization, Hon. (Mrs.) Esther Omene to the cold hands of death barely after a week of her appointment.

The remains of Hon. (Mrs.) Esther Omene, immediate past Chairman of Udu Local Government Council has now been deposited at the popular Veenell Hospital in Warri. It was learnt that the deceased had been ill for the past one week and all efforts by her family to resuscitate her were unsuccessful as she finally died Saturday morning.

The couple were waved off and watched by members of the royal family as they left in an open-top Ascot Landau for a carriage procession through Windsor. The Long Walk is filled with thousands of people cheering in delight as the newly-weds slowly make their way past.

Prince Harry is in high spirits and it's no surprise seeing as today is the day he married beautiful Meghan Markle.

After the first leg of their wedding ceremony, as they took a horse-drawn carriage ride around Windsor, Harry reportedly made a joke to his new wife that made her laugh.

According to lip reader Tina Lannin, as the carriage pulled back into the grounds of the castle, Harry could be seen saying, "I'm ready for a drink now", bringing a laugh from his wife.

The stunning bride made her first appearance in her bridal ensemble while en route to St. George's Chapel, where she'll be exchanging vows and saying "I do" to Prince Harry.

Markle is wearing a gown from Givenchy's creative director Claire Waight Keller, a British who used to helm the fashion house Chloé. The dress is  simple but classic, with a boatneck neckline, long sleeves and decadent train.

She paired her very long veil with a Queen Mary’s filigree tiara.

Meghan Markle has arrived to marry Prince Harry in a simple but beautiful pure white dress leaving the groom close to tears when he saw her for the first time.

The moment his father Prince Charles handed Meghan over, Prince Harry grabbed his bride's hand and told her: "You look amazing."

Lagos Police arrests man who allegedly raped his wife’s 15-year-old sister

The Lagos State police command has arrested an agent at a diagnostic centre along Gbagada-Oshodi Road, Ademola Ojomu, for allegedly raping the younger sister of his wife. The man allegedly started raping the sister in-law about two years ago when the girl now 15 was 13.

It was gathered that Ojomu would allegedly threaten that he would stop paying her school fees if she told a third party. The incident was consequently brought to the attention of a child rights group in the community Child Protection Network which reported it at the Onipanu police station after the SS1 student confided in one of her school teachers.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared a passionate kiss in front of their thousands of adoring guests after reciting their wedding vows.

The wedding was a very emotional one, with Harry and a number of the guests moved to tears. Meghan's mum, Doria Ragland can also her seen struggling to control her emotions as her daughter recited her vows to Prince Harry in St. George Chapel.

Nigeria: PDP to APC: ''Your Plan To Sack Teachers Is Wicked''

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described as wicked the plan by governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sack school teachers and other workers after the 2019 general election.

The PDP is horrified by the revelation by Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, on Thursday, that governors elected on the platform of APC, particularly from the northern states, had been in a secret plot to sack schoolteachers in their states after using them to win elections.

It is more disheartening to know from Governor el-Rufai, as widely reported in the media, that President Muhammadu Buhari even supported the implementation of this treacherous policy in his state, while at the same time, parading himself before Nigerians as pro-people and seeking to be re-elected.

The PDP rejects in its totality this plot by the APC governors to victimize the schoolteachers or cause any worker at any level to suffer.

Nigeria: Two men arrested for slaughtering their neighbour in Ogun State

Officers of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two men for killing their neighbour and stealing his Bajaj motorcycle. 

The two suspects Patrick Udom (35) from Akwa-Ibom State and James Roland (25) from Delta State were arrested following a complaint by the elder brother of the victim, Moses Utuede, who reported at the Obanlende Divisional headquarters that his younger brother, Happy Patrick left home around 7am on Tuesday and yet to return home with his motorcycle.

Nigeria: Gombe State Police command arrest fake currency syndicate with N22m fake notes

The Gombe State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has discovered fake notes totalling the sum of N22 million during a ‘stop and search’ operation around Billiri local government area of the state.

While reacting to the allegation against them, one of the suspects, Sani Ibrahim, confessed that he became a dealer of fake naira notes to meet his basic needs due to the economic condition of the country.

He said, “It is not my wish to produce fake Naira notes. It was one Alhaji who brought me into this line of illegal business last year when the economy became tough for me and I approached him for assistance”.

He further confessed that “We operate in Gombe and Nasarawa states because that is where we have people who trade in our fake currency”.
