The Niger State Police Command has paraded 16 suspects for attack on an Indian national, cattle rustling, car theft and illegal possession of firearms.
The suspects were arrested through different intelligence led-operations carried out in the state.
A statement issued on Wednesday, by the spokesperson for the command, ASP Muhammad Inna Abubakar said that on detectives received information that one Ismail Yusuf, 23, of Toro LGA of Bauchi State, a staff of Bolaji Drilling Company behind Abdulsalam Garage Tunga, criminally trespassed into the house of one Sattish Kasara, the Indian manager of Bolaji Drilling Company and inflicted serious injuries on his head with a hammer.
On receipt of the information, police detectives attached to Tudun Wada Division arrested the suspect. Exhibit recovered are hammer and a pipe. Case will soon be charged to court.
In another development, on 06/05/2018 at about 1800hrs information received that one Abubakar Haruna ‘m’ of Eregi Fulani camp Katcha LGA went for grazing with 19 cows and Ten sheep while two unknown person(s) armed with machetes accosted and attacked him and made away with the cows and the Sheeps.
During police investigation, one Abdullahi Abubakar ‘m’ aged 30yrs of Fulani camp Yakobi Paiko LGA and One Musa Shehu ‘m’ aged 20yrs of Kambe Oloran area of Kwara State were arrested and they confessed to have being perpetrating series of cattle rustling in Kudu area of Mokwa LGA and Kataeregi Katcha LGA where they rustled 27 cows and 33 sheeps. Exhibits recovered include 32 cows and 26 sheep. Case will soon be charged to court.
On 16/05/2018 at about 1200hrs, based on a tip-off, JTF patrol team deployed to Zungeru Hydro Power Project intercepted and arrested a four man gang who specialized in illegal manufacturing of fire arms (Dane guns).
The suspects are; 1. Badamasi Umar aged 54yrs ‘m’ of Gidigori in Rafi LGA of Niger State, 2. Adamu Aliyu aged 45yrs ‘m’ of Gidigori in Rafi LGA of Niger State 3. Kabiru Tukura aged 40yrs m’ of Gungu village in Shiroro LGA of Niger State and 4. Isyaku Madaki aged 40yrs ‘m’ of Gungu village in Shiroro LGA of Niger State.
During police investigation, Badamasi Umar confessed of being the manufacturer and had sold about 7 Dane guns to different people in Gungu Village of Shiroro LGA. 12 Dane guns were recovered in their possession. Case will soon be charged to court.
In another painstaking investigation, On 07/05/2018 information received that some times in the month of December 2017 one Mrs. Sylvia Hammond ‘f’ of Lagos state gave her PEUGEOT saloon car with registration no. JJJ271DB Lagos valued N1.5million to one Lukman, a mechanic in Lagos State for repairs but he took the vehicle and made away to unknown destination. During Police investigation, on 30/04/2018 at about 0900hrs one Bashiru Yakubu ‘m’ aged 35yrs of General Hospital Kontagora LGA was arrested while trying to re-register the said vehicle at the FRSC office Minna and he claimed to have bought the Vehicle from one Abiodun Ogundipe ‘m’ aged 40yrs of Al-Ummah motors Kontagora at the rate of N600, 000. Case will soon be charged to court.
Similarly, on 16/05/2018 at about 1500hrs information received from one Aminu Ibrahim ‘m’ of Chanchaga area Minna that on the same date at about 1500hrs he parked his Honda Civic car with reg. no. MD701ABC Abuja by the gate of Kure Ultra Modern market Minna and entered inside the market but the vehicle was stolen before he returned back.
On receipt of the information police detectives attached to the Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad trailed and arrested the suspect one Adamu Yusuf ’m’ aged 45yrs of new Nyanya by NNPC Abuja with the said vehicle along Minna Paiko Road. Suspect confessed to the crime. Case will be charged to court.
On 06/08/2018 at about 1000hrs, Police detectives attached to Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad while on surveillance patrol intercept one Oro Abubakar aged 45yrs and Usman Mohammed aged 45yrs all ‘m’ of New-Bussa Borgu LGA in possession of one locally made pistol, one bottle of suspected mercury, four thousand dollars in one hundred dollar denomination, six thousand naira in one thousand naira denomination suspected to be counterfeit and a cash sum of eighty thousand naira. Suspect confessed to be advance fee fraudster. Case will be charged to court.
On 13/05/2018 at about 1200hrs based on a tip-off, a team of Police operatives attached to command SARS while on patrol along M.I Wushishi road arrested one Abubakar Salihu ‘m’ aged 20yrs and Solomon Sunday ‘m’ aged 19yrs of Sabon Gari area Minna in an attempted to cut the armor cable from the step down transformer located at the house of one Aliyu Ibrahim ‘m’ behind house of assembly quarters Minna.
