A nursing mother was brutally battered by her husband, not minding that she just gave birth to his child and is still recovering.

Heartbreaking photos shared by OAP Ifeanyi Orakwe shows the new mother's disfigured face after she was physically abused by her husband. Her eyes were swollen shut and her entire face was also swollen. Stains that look like blood can also be seen on her clothes as she nursed her child in spite of her injuries.

Lagos state government set to arraign female lawyer who killed husband and severed his genital

The Lagos State Government says it is ready to arraign 47-year-old female lawyer, Mrs Udeme Odibi, who allegedly stabbed her 50 year old husband, Otike Odibi, to death and severed his genital at their home in Diamond Estate, Sango-Tedo area of Lekki last month.

At a news conference in Alausa, Lagos today May 28th, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adeniji Kazeem, said the state government was concerned about increasing cases of intimate partner violence in the state, leading to murder.

Video shows 22-year-old Mamoudou Gassama climbing up four floors of the apartment building in just seconds to rescue the child who was hanging precariously from the top of the apartment at about 8pm on Saturday.

'JAMB remitted only N52m to the Federal Government in 40 years' - Registrar, Is’haq Oloyede

Prof. Is’haq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has lamented how corruption ate deep into the agency such that it was only able to remit to the treasury N52million in about 40 years.  

Oloyede however changed the narrative when he took over in 2016.  Oloyede said he generated N9 billion for the board and remitted N 7.8 billion to the Federal Government in 2017. The JAMB registrar said this while delivering a lecture at a colloquium to mark the 61st birthday of Gov. Rauf Aregbesola on Sunday in Osogbo.  

He said Nigerians should join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari in the fight against corruption to bring about a better society. He said there is urgent need for government at all levels to improve the quality of education in the country. The colloquium had as theme: “Functional Education as a Tool For National Development and Gateway To Freedom.’’  Oloyede said that there was the need for government to place less emphasis on certificates and encourage abilities among the students.

Corps member slumps and dies on duty at Lagos State Secretariat

A corps member  identified as Ibukun Arowolo, serving with the Lagos State Government has died after he slumped at the government secretariat on Thursday.

According to reports, the corps member was serving with the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget before he died. He was said to have slumped and died five days to his completion of his youth service with the government.
