Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi, has resigned his appointment. He tendered his resignation letter to President Buhari three weeks ago but the letter will take effect today May 30th.

Fayemi is the APC governorship candidate in Ekiti state on July 14th. He will be contesting the election with Ayo Fayose’s deputy, Kolapo Olusola-Eleka.

Breaking: Dino Melaye defects to PDP

Embattled Senator Dino Melaye has defected to PDP. He announced his defection during plenary this morning May 30th.

Dino who was hospitalized after his faceoff with the police last month, appeared on the floor of the senate in a white attire and a bandage wrapped around his neck.

In April, Melaye was arrested after presenting himself to the police to answer questions on allegations of sponsoring a criminal gang.

2019: ''Vote for candidates of your choice'' President Buhari tells Nigerians

President Buhari has advised Nigerians to vote for the candidates of their choice in next year’s general elections. 

He gave the advice while breaking fast with members of the judiciary led by Supreme Court Justice Olukayode Ariwoola last night.

President Buhari who is also seeking a second term and will be running for president next year, said

“Let them vote for anybody they want across ethnicity and religion and impose their decisions on them. I think that is what I am calling on and I am begging the governors to please continue with voter education so that people will take their permanent voter card seriously and make sure that they don’t lose them''.

Teen who falsely accused ex-boyfriend of drugging and raping her when they split up is convicted of wasting police time

A teenager who falsely claimed her ex-boyfriend had raped her when they split up has been convicted of wasting police time.

Hannah Sandover, 18, lied to a friend that her ex, also 18, had spiked her water bottle and forced himself on her in the back of the car after he refused to get back with her. She said this because "she wanted to get back at him".

Sandover claimed she got into the back of a car to stretch out as she had stomach pains before her former boyfriend jumped on her. She even claimed to cops one of her friends was sitting in the front of the car, but was listening to music through headphones so didn't know what was going on.

Media mogul, Oprah Winfrey recently met with 51-year old Beauty entrepreneur and socialite Vivian Chiologi and her lovely daughter.

In a recent interview with Channels TV that is currently trending on social media, Imo state Governor Rochas Okorocha justified corruption in public offices in Nigeria. He said;

"There is no man on earth, in Nigeria, from A to Z, who would say he lives with the money you pay him monthly. The salaries of governers are 750,000 naira a month. If you don't have a second office and you want something to do, you must steal. Every political office holder who doesn't have a second office must steal," he said.

Facebook to be banned in Papua New Guinea for a month

Facebook will be banned for one month in Papua New Guinea. During the period of the ban, the country will identify fake Facebook profiles and consider the website's effect on the country. 

Communication minister Sam Basil said users posting pornography and false information would be identified. He also suggested the country could set up its own social network to compete with Facebook.

Update: Senate in rowdy session following's Dino Melaye's decamp to PDP

The senate is currently in a rowdy session following Dino Melaye's announcement for his defection to PDP. Dino during plenary this morning, thanked his colleagues particularly members of the PDP for standing by his during his ordeal with the police. He thereafter asked that a seat be made available for him with members of the opposition party and afterwards will write a letter to the senate president formally defecting to PDP.

Shortly after his announcement, the APC nad PDP senators engaged in s firrce exchange of words. Dino is right now sitting beside former Senate President, David Mark.

Faryal Makhdoom has unfollowed her cheating husband on Instagram after he cheated on her with a model 17 days after she welcomed their second child.

26-year-old Faryal confronted Sophia Hammani after discovering her number on Amir's phone. She discovered that her husband had slept with the 22-year-old just 17 days after the birth of her second child with him.

Afterward, Sophia went public with information about the affair and claimed she had no idea Amir was married until she saw a photo of him and Faryal together on a plane. She revealed she had spent the night with the 31-year-old former world champion after meeting him in London hotspot Libertine.

Man accused of raping a pregnant woman and a 4-year-old child is beaten to death by angry mob (Graphic Video)

A shocking video has emerged showing an accused rapist being lynched by an angry mob for allegedly raping a pregnant woman and a four-year-old child in Colombia.

The gruesome scene was filmed in the municipality of Soledad, in the northern Colombian department of Atlantico.

According to local media, the lynched man, nicknamed 'Boca de Perro' (Dog mouth), was an alleged serial rapist, who was accused of raping at least four victims, including a four-year-old girl and a pregnant woman.

In the shocking video below, the suspected rapist is seen already on the ground in a pool of blood. When he starts to move and suddenly gets up, locals started shouting: 'He's still alive.'

Kylie Jenner joined her babydaddy Travis Scott for the NBA playoff game between Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors on Monday night in Houston, Texas. 

The 20-year-old reality star, who sat courtside with her rapper beau sported a black bodysuit and knee-high boots, while Scott, 27, wore a plaid shirt, which he matched with blue jeans, a pair of Air Jordans and several silver chains. 

Jenner and Scott who both started dating back in April 2017 following Kylie's split from rapper Tyga welcomed their first child, daughter Stormi in February.

Youths in Agudama Epie community in Bayelsa state are currently going on rampage after a female member of their community allegedly confessed to poisoning her sister in-law.

The deceased, 37-year-old mother of eight, Pinaere Promise, died on Sunday morning while she was being rushed to the hospital.

Her sister in-law, Mama Toufa, pictured left, reportedly fell ill shortly after Promise's burial. She was taken to a church for prayers where she reportedly confessed to having a hand in the death of Promise.

Ebonyi state governor pledges to sign first death warrant in case of kidnappers who abducted and shot businessman

In a bid to stem the rising tide of violence in Ebonyi state, the governor, David Umahi has vowed to sign his ‘first death warrant’ once the kidnappers of a recently abducted but freed victim were convicted. Mr Monday Okeh, a businessman and proprietor of Monablis hotel was kidnapped in front of his establishment two weeks ago in the state capital, Abakaliki. He was taken to a river where he was reportedly shot and thrown into the river. He, however, survived the incident.

According to Premium Times, a family source said the assailants used a black Highlander Jeep with no bumper in the front. The source said: 

'They shot sporadically at the Rector's residence' - Catholic priest narrates how Fulani herdsmen attacked Seminary in Taraba

Reverend Father Emmanuel Atsue, the Rector at the Sacred Heart Minor Seminary in Jalingo Taraba State, has shared details of Fulani herdsmen attack on the school.

The herdsmen had stormed the seminary at about 12:30 a.m, on Sunday, in search of Revered Father Cornelius Koba, who they claimed had been preventing them from grazing their cattle around the school's premise. They shot sporadically at the Rector's residence, broke window glasses and windscreen of one of the vehicles and shot and injured Father Koba.

Father Atsue, who spoke on behalf of the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese, Jalingo, also disclosed that the school has been shut down for one week to enable the students go home to their families and recover from the trauma. His post below:

According to Nkemdilim Nwokemodo, the battered woman is her friend and she was beaten black and blue by her husband following an argument.

Lagos police arrest man rushing home to see his dying dad because he had four phones with him

A young man travelling to the eastern part of Nigeria was prevented from continuing on his journey by Lagos state police because he had four phones with him.

The bus conveying the young man and other travellers was reportedly stopped on Ikorodu Sagamu expressway and the young man was detained because he had multiple phones.

According to the Twitter user who shared the story, the young man explained that he was travelling home to see his dying dad and people gave him phones to deliver to people in his home town. However, the police officer still refused to let him continue on his journey.

Ex-PDP National publicity secretary, Dayo Adeyeye, defects to APC

Former National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dayo Adeyeye, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). The former Minister of State for Works made it known at a press conference held at his private residence in Ado-Ekiti today May 29th.

Adeyeye left the PDP early this month after losing the PDP governorship ticket in Ekiti.

Popular Ebonyi hotelier survives after being kidnapped, shot and dumped inside river by suspected assassins

A popular businessman in Ebonyi State, Chief Monday Okeh narrowly escaped assassination on his way to a meeting in Abakaliki.

It was gathered that Chief Okeh, a.k.a Emebeifego, who owns a popular hotel 'Monablis' located in the state capital was abducted by four men last Friday night.

Offa bank robberies: Dismissed police officer admits to killing over 20 persons, gives reason why he ensured he killed policemen

The dismissed Corporal turned leader of the armed robbery gang that attacked commercial banks in Offa, Kwara State on April 5th, Michael Adiku has given reasons why he killed over 20 persons including police officers during the robbery incident.

Speaking with detectives after his arrest, Adikwu said he deliberately killed the policemen that day because he has scores to settle with the system that dismmissed him from service.

The Nation reports that Adikwu, a Corporal attached to the Kwara State unit of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), was dismissed after he was accused of freeing suspected armed robbers. He was later charged to court and sent to prison, where he spent three years. Upon his release, he formed the robbery gang that attacked the banks.

The suspects were arrested at Elomaz Hotel, Maryland, Lagos, following a petition received by the Commission from a complainant.
