Chanel has taken the decision to cancel a fashion show it was due to hold in London on June 4.

The show was set to be a replica show of the 31 Rue Cambon 2019/20 Métiers d’art collection, which was shown in Paris back in December.

The French fashion house made a statement announcing the news in which it cited “this period of uncertainty due to the developing situation surrounding Covid-19 on a global scale.” The brand said it “is continuing to monitor the situation closely” and that its “main priority is to protect the health and well-being of our clients and employees."

Giorgio Armani has donated €1.25m (£1.1m) to hospitals in Italy in a bid to combat the coronavirus outbreak.

The donation from the fashion designer comes after the recent postponement of his Cruise 2021 series, scheduled to be held in Dubai on April 19.

As of 12 March, in addition to more than 820 deaths, there were more than 12,400 confirmed cases of coronavirus in all of Italy.

Armani‘s donation of more than a million euros has been distributed to four hospitals, including three hospitals in Milan and the Spallanzani hospital in Rome.

It also included money donated to the Civil Protection Agency, a national body in Italy that deals with emergency situations.

Prada has become the new luxury fashion company to participate in battling the outbreak of coronavirus.

The Italian fashion house announced on Monday in a statement that co-CEOs of the group, Patrizio Bertelli and Miuccia Prada, and chairman Carlo Mazzi had personally donated six intensive care and resuscitation units to three Milan hospitals.

The hospitals included San Raffaele, Sacco and Vittore Buzzi – the latter of which is a children's hospital.

Jean-Paul Gaultier is going out with a bang. 

On Thursday, celebrities, designers, and influencers galore gathered at
the famous Theatre Du Chatelet in Paris to witness a show they
 won't soon forget. The crowds watched in awe as Bella Hadid,
 Gigi Hadid, Dita Von Teese, Paris Jackson, and
 so many more famous models strut across the catwalk
in outrageous, beautiful ensembles designed by none other
 than Jean-Paul Gaultier himself.

But this show wasn't unforgettable for it's a star-studded rotation
of models or for having Boy George performing—that's par for
the course. It's an unforgettable show because this marks the
end of Jean-Paul's reign as the King of Haute Couture.
After 50 years in the fashion industry, the renowned designer
made his final bow. 

On Jan. 17, the 67-year-old revealed via social media,
"This show celebrating 50 years of my career will also be
my last. But rest assured Haute Couture will continue with a
new concept."

Duchess of Sussex unveils fashion line for 'unemployed women'

According to Theguardian, Her return from maternity leave coincides with the beginning of London fashion week, but after the furor that surrounded her trip on Elton John’s private jet, the Duchess of Sussex was not about to make the mistake of facing photographers from the glitz of a catwalk front row.

Instead, she entered John Lewis on Oxford Street in London via the back door, smart but low-key in a £120 pair of black trousers and an £85 white shirt with rolled-up sleeves, to launch the Smart Set, a collection of interview-appropriate clothing for unemployed women trying to enter the workplace.

The duchess is a patron of Smart Works, a charity that provides interview coaching and appropriate outfits for women in need. The Smart Set collection, comprising a trouser suit, white shirt, dress, and a leather bag, goes beyond awareness-raising with an ambitious plan to improve the quantity and quality of clothing stock at the charity. For each piece sold on the shop floor, one will be donated to Smart Works.
