Meghan Markle's father is seen for first time since missing his daughter's wedding to undergo heart surgery

The father of the new Duchess of Sussex was pictured for the first time since his daughter's royal wedding two days ago.
Though his daughter is now one of the most popular women in the world, Thomas Markle Sr. looked lonely and unhappy, with his shoulders slumped as he clutched a plastic bag marked "personal possessions".

The photos were taken by Dailymail in Thomas Markle's adopted hometown of Rosarito, Mexico, where he has been recovering from a heart operation.

Markle Sr. allegedly had a major heart surgery last week Wednesday following a heart attack. Since being released from medical supervision, he has been staying with friends in a different gated compound a few miles from his home. He returned to his San Antonio Del Mar property Monday, driven in by a different friend, single mom Lori Davis, 38, with whom he has previously been pictured enjoying a dinner date.

At some point, Markle Sr surprisingly stopped at a Starbucks drive-through and appeared to walk away with a Frappuccino in hand, whipped cream and chocolate on the top, despite the 73-year-old having heart surgery last week.
His return home came days after his daughter Meghan Markle married Prince Harry. Her yoga teacher mother Doria Ragland, 61, was the only member of Meghan's family to attend the wedding and was seated alone.
