A North Carolina police officer received a phone call from scammers who were trying to dupe her, and the way she responded to the call has amused web users.
In the video, the officer is seen trying hard not to laugh as one of the scammers, pretending to be an officer, told her a Sheriff's Deputy was on the way to arrest her for drug trafficking.
The scammer told Apex police officer Ann Stephens that she was facing as many as 25 charges for "fraudulently using her social security number to commit a fraud of more than $10million.
The scammer went on to ask her to provide information on all the bank accounts she has, else the money in all her accounts will be frozen.
She asked to be transferred to a senior officer and she was. But the second scammer's story did not match the former's. The second claimed she had two charges - drug trafficking and money laundering.
When Ann Stephens pointed out the discrepancy in their stories, the scammer went silent then cut the call.
Officer Ann Stephens went on to warn people to be careful and never provide personal details on the phone or online.
