Rapper Ikechukwu narrates how an Uber driver saved him from acute food poisoning

Ikechukwu had a near-death experience last weekend after suffering from food poisoning. He however got saved, following the timely intervention of an Uber driver. 

The rapper revealed that he was alone in his house at the time of the incident and his calls to friends rang out with no answer. Ikechukwu said the Uber driver came to his aid and rushed him to the hospital after he ordered for a ride as no one was picking up his calls. 

Asserting that life is unpredictable, Ikechukwu revealed that he got better after being taken to 3 hospitals.  Read his tweets below;

Ministerial Inauguration: Oyo-Ita arrives Presidential Villa amidst investigation by EFCC

Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, the Head of Service of the Federation, arrived the State House Assembly and is currently attending the swearing in ceremony of Ministers.

Oyo-Ita who is currently being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged financial impropriety to the tune of N3bn, was scheduled to make presentation at the Ministerial nominees retreat yesterday August 20th but didn’t show up.

However, she was seen entering the office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari this morning. 

She is currently in the council chambers attending the Ministerial swearing-in ceremony.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has said its planning to convert five forests to grazing reserves for herdsmen in the state.

Ganduje said that his administration had inaugurated a technical committee on farm settlements for herdsmen in the state. He said further that the proposed settlement would assist in boosting socio-economic ventures in the state.  

New ministers set to be sworn-in by President Buhari today

The two-day Presidential Retreat hosted by President Buhari wrapped up with a charge from the president to the Ministers-designate to rise to the challenging responsibilities of ministerial office.  

A statement from the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina in Abuja, said that the second and final day of the retreat kicked off with a presentation on Cabinet Processes and Procedures by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha.  

He said that this was followed by a presentation by the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Adams Oshiomhole, on aligning government policies with the ideology, manifesto and campaign promises of the ruling party.

Wadume: Ibi residents kick against arrest of Taraba kidnap kingpin, say they’ll miss his ‘generosity’

The arrest of Hamisu Wadume, seems to have left a sour taste in the mouths of some residents of Ibi which is the hometown of the multi-millionaire kidnapper in Taraba state. 

The kidnapper whose escape was initially aided by some soldiers who ended up killing 3 police officers and a civilian, was re-arrested by the IGP Intelligence Response Team on Monday evening, at Lai Mai in Alo Holo area of Kano State.

However some residents of Ibi community have kicked against his arrest as they revealed they will greatly miss his generousity, including building a mosque for the people of his hometown.

President Donald Trump has said Jews who vote for Democrats are either ignorant or disloyal after two U.S. congresswomen were blocked from entering Israel because they support a boycott of the country over its treatment of Palestinians.

Hamisu Wadume, the notorious kidnap kingpin, was hiding in this apartment in Kano state before his arrest by men of the Nigerian police on Monday August 19th.

Hamisu was initially arrested on August 6th but escaped after soldiers attacked the police officers who had him in custody and rescued him. In a confessional video posted online by the police yesterday, Hamids recounted how he was taken to the Nigerian Army headquarters, had his handcuffs removed and allowed to escape.

Atiku’s petition is a mere waste of time - INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) to dismiss the petition filed by Atiku Abubakar and the People's Democratic Party (PDP). 

The electoral body made the submission in its final address at the PEPT on Wednesday August 21. INEC’s lawyer, Yunus Usman (SAN) insisted that Atiku's petition was a mere waste of time as he and his party could not substantiate claims of the electoral commission having a server and transmitting results electronically.

Sowore planned to violently topple government – DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) has said its investigation so far revealed that the “RevolutionNow” movement was a smokescreen for the actual intention of Omoyele Sowore and his allies “to topple the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

President Buhari has approved replacements for heads of Federal Government agencies that were recently appointed as ministers.

Senator Basheer Garba Mohammed has been appointed Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons. He replaces Sadiya Umar Farouk.

Dr. Chioma Ejikeme has been appointed Executive Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, replacing Sharon O. Ikeazor, while Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi is now Director General/CEO, National Information Technology Development Agency.

Larry King files for divorce from 7th wife, Shawn King

Larry King is ending his marriage to his 7th wife Shawn Southwick King, after being together for 22 years. 

The  American television and radio host had reconciled with his estranged wife when she tried pulling the plug in April 2010, but initiated the divorce process himself in 2019. Larry King who has been married 7 times to 8 different women, tied the nuptial knots with Shawn in 1997. 

Their wedding took place in his hospital room while preparing to undergo surgery to clear a clogged blood vessel in his heart. The couple have two grown sons together, and they are said to be 19 and 20 years old.
