Why it took so long for us to invite Fatoyinbo- Police

Frank Mba, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, has explained why it took so long for the senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Biodun Fatoyinbo, to be invited for questioning over the rape allegations levelled against him by Busola, a photographer and wife of popular singer, Timi Dakolo.

Speaking in an interview with Punch, Mba who confirmed that Fatoyinbo was in their custody, said the police wanted to get statements from several witnesses and then build a solid case before inviting him.

$9.6b judgment: President Buhari orders EFCC, NIA, IGP to probe criminal conspiracy linked to Goodluck Jonathan's administration

The Federal Government has linked the contract which led to a judgement debt of $9.6billion(N3.5trillion) to the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.  

President Buhari has now ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the National Intelligence Agency( NIA) and the Inspector-General of Police to probe the criminal conspiracy behind the failed contract.

US Embassy in Nigeria increases tourism visa fee to N99, 900, blames FG for decision

The United States Embassy in Nigeria says effective from Thursday, August 29th this year, Nigerians applying for tourism, student and business visas will pay an additional $110 (N40, 700) to collect their visa if they are granted. This is asides the N59, 200 visa applicatuon fee.

Frankland Briyai, the former Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Cross River state who used  Independent and Electoral Commission (INEC) premises to declare his political ambition on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been disqualified from participating in the party's governorship primaries in Bayelsa.

The former REC was disqualified for not meeting some specific criteria for participating in the primary election which include being a card-carrying member of the party for at least one year.

Ibrahim Magu, the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has disclosed that the collaboration between the Commission and the Federal Bureau of Investigations, FBI, has led to the recovery of the sums of $314,000 (Three Hundred and Fourteen Thousand US Dollars) and about N373,000,000 (Three Hundred and Seventy-three Million Naira) from perpetrators of computer-related frauds.

President Buhari sacks Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Tor Ujah

President Buhari has approved the immediate termination of appointment of the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Reverend Tor Ujah. 

In a statement released by the Director (Information) at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey, the Federal government says the termination was in line with the provision of Section 4, Sub-Section 3 of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission Act.

As part of its mandate, the Honorable Fatai Mojeed led committee is mandated to investigate the purchase of 820 buses that had been scheduled for public transport in the state.

The embattled ex-governor is also under investigation by EFCC on alleged cases of mismanagement of state funds.

EFCC traces Atiku’s 'laundered' money to Obasanjo Presidential Library in Ogun State

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have reportedly visited the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, as part of the probe of ex-Vice-President Atiku Abubakar’s son-in-law and the 150 million euros cash-for-poll bribe scandal.

It was gathered that investigators went to the Library on August 8th to authenticate the claims by one of those under probe that he gave $140,000 (about N50 million) to one of the library officials.
